FAQ’s

What is collagen?

Collagen fibers are the major constituents of connective tissues, skin, tendons, cartilage and bones. Collagen is an extracellular protein which maintains the structural integrity and the mechanical properties of tissues and organs. Native collagen is composed of a large triple helix molecule. Liquid Body collagen peptides are produced with a carefully controlled enzymatic hydrolysis making them highly soluble and digestible.

What is the difference between Type I collagen and Type II collagen?

Collagen types are a biological classification. Type I collagen is found in bones and skin. It accounts for more than 90% of organic mass of bone and is also the major component of skin, tendons and ligaments. Type II collagen is the main collagen of cartilage. Purified collagen II does not exist by itself, only in combination with glucosamine & chondroitin. It is therefore a different product.

Are collagen peptides from a specific animal source better than the others?

In fact when collagen is hydrolyzed, its large triple helix chains of amino acids are broken down into small peptides of amino acids where they are absorbed, digested and delivered to their site of action in our body, so it doesn’t really make a difference to which animal source the collagen peptides are produced from (the amino acid composition is the same for collagen from for example fish, bovine or porcine). It really comes down more to the preference of individuals.

When should I start taking Liquid Body collagen to promote my health?
